Hahn 1229 RH "The Blue Pearl" - $6,500

RH PROTOTYPE  One of a kind

This beautiful Hahn 1229 was the vision of DHR owner Dale Rabiner.  Dale worked closely with Hahn founder and builder Chihoe Hahn and artist Annie Haslam to create this stunning instrument known as "The Blue Pearl".  It should be noted that Annie is also the lead vocalist of the internationally known band, "Renaissance".

Hahn's Model 1229 was inspired by a 1966 Epiphone Melody Maker. It is designed with a 1 1/2" thin body. It is all-mahogany with an Indian rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is capable of twang as well as sweet, rounded notes and singing sustain. The thinner body and neck create a "feedback loop" for each note, creating bloom and harmonic complexity after the initial clear, stinging attack.

The guitar is fitted with Hahn Guitars hardware: Stainless steel decoupled cutoff bridge, compensated brass saddles, hand polished stainless steel control plate, neck plate, aluminum knobs and socket jack. It is finished in approximately 40 coats of paper thin nitrocellulose lacquer. The Pickups are by Seymour Duncan. The bridge is handwound by Seymour Duncan himself and is a degaussed Alnico V "broadcaster" style, while the neck is a STR1.  Hahn guitars come with a deluxe hardshell case.
