J. Lee Rabiner, Director of Marketing

As a co-owner in the family business, J. Lee's role within the DHR Music organization is multi-faceted which includes the primary responsibility of marketing, along with other responsibilities such as overseeing the design of the store and its displays, processing all product sales, maintaining the accounting records, and a myriad of other business related matters.
As Director of Marketing, J. Lee Rabiner's primary role is to initiate, oversee, and approve all visual marketing materials that DHR Music produces via website, email, print, and multi-media. She assists the principal owner (and husband) of DHR, Dale Rabiner, in expanding DHR Music's name recognition in the marketplace and increasing sales for the specialized music products that we offer. J. Lee focuses on providing unique quality experiences for our clientele at every touch point whether it be on the website, in email or phone communications, or in person at the store, a guitar show, a sponsored clinic/ concert, or special community event.
Although interested in music at a young age, playing piano at the age of 8, and dancing from the age of 2 until her late teen's, J. Lee had not foreseen a career in the music industry. Once she entered college, she hung up her ballet shoes and set aside the piano for a path in commercial interior design. In 1997 she graduated from Marymount University, a private school in Arlington, VA with a BA in Interior Design. J. Lee took all of her available electives in graphic design. She later continued on to become a licensed interior designer and worked at a number of firms in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, CA, Nashville, TN, and Cincinnati, OH. Her expertise was in corporate design, with a strong knowledge in corporate organization. J. Lee worked with companies such as Toyota, Caterpiller, HCA, and the state of TN, to help them improve their employee efficiency through their use of space and the office organizational structure. J. Lee had a secondary focus on hospitality and retail design, where her expertise was in creating inviting environments that set the company apart from their competition, and furthered the branding of their product offerings. In 2005, J. Lee began to help Dale with the business on a part-time limited basis, lending her skills in graphic design and photography. As the business continued to grow quickly, it became evident that more assistance was needed and by 2007, she decided to leave the interior design industry to work with DHR Music full time. This enabled her to still utilize her passion for art, design, and business while also spend more time with her husband.
By the close of 2008, DHR Music had grown exponentially with clients driving and flying in from around the States and abroad to test out DHR Music's world class instruments. It became evident that a physical store which could provide a superior "experience" while visiting and testing out instruments was imperative. Dale's desire was to create a haven for guitar enthusiasts where they could interact with the world's finest instruments as modern sculptures of functional art by displaying the instruments in a way which exalted their art form. In addition, he wanted to create an environment which welcomed visitors and provided the ideal setup to experience the instruments' playability. With J. Lee's design background, she naturally designed the new DHR Music Experience showroom to accomplish these goals, converting it from a neglected building into a beautiful showroom that reflects the quality of a museum with old world charm. In May 2009, they opened DHR Music Experience in Montgomery, OH - a historic district in the greater Cincinnati area.
Additionally, Dale and J. Lee own an independent record label called J Curve Records, which features jazz, Latin, blues and roots music. You may find CDs from the label available for purchase in the store or online at http://www.jcurverecords.com.
